Robert Riva is a partner of Shapiro & Gellert, PLLC. Before joining Shapiro & Gellert, Robert served as counsel at Herrick, Feinstein LLP and as an associate at DLA Piper LLP and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
Throughout his professional practice, Robert has represented institutional lenders, owners and developers in fee and leasehold mortgage loan and mezzanine loan financings, including acquisition loans, pre-development loans, construction loans, bridge and permanent financing and tax-credit based financings, as well as secured lines of credit, preferred equity investments, loan warehousing facilities, master repurchase transactions, and loan acquisitions and sales, syndications and participations, in connection with condominium developments, hotels, commercial office buildings, multi-family and mixed-use developments, and industrial facilities and distribution centers.
Prior to the practice of law, Robert was an economist in Washington, DC.
Robert received his J.D. from Cornell University and his B.A. from the University of Chicago. He is admitted to practice in the States of New York and New Jersey.
